At first look, these questions may seem simple or self explanatory, but you’d be surprised how many people don’t start out a project with them! They’re extremely important to ask yourself before starting a design for any room in your home because they reduce overwhelm and allow you to enjoy the process of creating a beautiful space that fits your unique lifestyle! I promise if you start with these 3 simple questions, you’ll be on your way to creating that dream home you’ve been craving!

The first question to ask yourself is..“Which room am I going to focus on first?” This is so important because many times I see clients jumping around from room to room and it makes achieving ANY progress extremely difficult! That doesn’t mean that you can’t do the other projects, but rather that you should only choose one at a time to focus your energy on! This will keep you from getting stuck in procrastination mode!

The second question to ask yourself is…”What do I want to keep?” Knowing what you don’t need to look for and/or purchase is half the battle! Take photos and measure these items so you’ll have them to reference when making other selections for your space! You may want to use an app like Photo Measures to keep track of these items!

The third question to ask yourself is…”What is my budget?” I know what you’re thinking…”Duh, that’s obvious!” But, seriously think about what you are willing to spend before getting started. This will give you an outline for making your selections and also tells you what to buy now and what to save for and buy later! That’s it! Start with these 3 simple questions and you’ll be on your way to creating a beautiful home that functions for your lifestyle!
