Rattan Home Decor

As a young girl, I can remember my mom always purchasing rattan items for our home. I loved the texture these pieces added to our home. Since then, rattan has come a long way. I love to incorporate so many beautiful and even modern options in my client's homes.

You may hear these items described as rattan, wicker, or woven. There are two types of rattan, natural and synthetic. The main difference is that natural rattan is porous, and artificial, made of plastic or resin, is not. When purchasing these products, read the descriptions to see which type the item is. Also, keep in mind some are for indoor use only.

You can easily incorporate this trend into your home by adding a floor basket for blankets or a woven tray to your coffee table. If you love the look, consider using a side chair, counter stools, or bench. There are even some great light fixtures in this style.

Whichever route you choose, you can keep it understated by not adding too many similar items to one space. Below are a few items that I love!
