“I’m not sure what to pick for my kitchen because I really love [insert what you love here], but is it too trendy? Or, will it be timeless?” We get asked this question almost every time we meet with a new client. Trends are constantly changing. We live in a disposable society, but when remodeling a kitchen, for most people, it is something they do once, or maybe twice in their lifetime.

Now, onto the 2020 trends! Smart technology has been around for some time, but it is really ramping up this year! We’ve been using connected appliances and smart speakers in almost every remodel we work on! A few favorites are the Bosch coffee maker and Google Nest Hub that integrates with the Google doorbell video camera and Yale Smart Lock! A few other things to keep in mind if you are planning a kitchen remodel in 2020 are ”super-pantries” with ultra-storage solutions or if you have the space think about incorporating a small butler’s pantry, or breakfast/coffee bar. These are great for the morning rush and entertaining! Farmhouse sinks are a recurring trend that seems to remain a classic staple and as for colors and finishes, whites are still very popular. However, we are seeing warmer tones, like rose golds, antique brass, soft pinks, and coppers! Walnut and quarter sawn white oak are very popular, but the stains are shifting to warmer lighter tones. One thing is for sure color is making a come back!
