Before and After | Master Bathroom Spotlight
In this month’s remodeling spotlight we have a master bathroom full of luxurious amenities located just south of Pittsburgh! Prior to the remodeling, the master bathroom was the only space in the house that lacked a transitional style. The original bathroom was dated and had a very dark complexion due to a lack of windows. The design we came up with gave the space a more contemporary, warm feel.
To combat the darkness of the space, we incorporated a transom window which allowed natural light to gracefully flood the room. To make the space feel larger, the entire vanity wall is mirrored and houses three Robern medicine cabinets. These cabinets allow for additional storage as well as the integration of a TV in the room. Below the medicine cabinets, are his and hers vanities constructed of quartersawn white oak featuring a custom door style and a gray stain with a glaze. The cabinetry is topped with an Arabascato marble countertop.
The focal point of the room is most certainly the shower. This massive shower is equipped with body sprays, a rain shower, and “His and Her” shower heads. Ombre frosted glass gives the shower a hint of privacy. The master bathroom is located directly above the garage, which makes the space naturally colder. Because of this, radiant heat was added to the shower bench, shower floor and main floor of the bathroom. If the client is ever not in the mood to use this excellent shower, they can also relax in the additional free standing tub!
